Common Symptoms
Signs You Need This Service
Rough idle or a misfire code
A shaky idle, a flashing check engine light, or a stored misfire code (P0300 through P0308) usually means a plug or a coil has given up on one cylinder. We scan it at your location and confirm which one before replacing anything.
Worse mileage and sluggish acceleration
Plugs wear slowly, so the drop in fuel economy and power creeps up on you. If the car feels tired and drinks more gas than it used to, worn plugs are one of the cheapest fixes on the list.
Hard starts, especially on cold mornings
Long cranking before the engine catches, more so on cold mornings, points at tired plugs or a weak coil. We check both and replace only what tests bad.
What To Expect
Spark Plugs and Ignition, Start To Finish
We scan for misfire history first, then pull and read the plugs, which tell us a lot about how the engine is running. Coils get tested individually and only replaced when they fail, not as a set on a guess.
Most four-cylinder engines take about an hour in your driveway. V6 and V8 engines with plugs behind the intake take longer, and we tell you up front. Labor is book time at $125 per hour plus the plugs and any coils you actually need.
New plugs are gapped and torqued to spec and the misfire codes are cleared. You drive it the same day, and the idle and mileage improvements show up on the first tank.

Questions & Answers
A misfire can be a plug, a coil, an injector, or a vacuum leak. We scan for codes and live data at your location and test the coil on the misfiring cylinder before replacing anything.
Most modern cars run 60,000 to 100,000 miles on a set of iridium plugs. Older engines and copper plugs need them sooner. If you are past the interval and the idle is rough, it is time.
Yes. Plugs and coils are a normal driveway or office lot job for us across Plano and the surrounding cities. We bring the plugs, the torque wrench, and the scanner.
No. We test each coil and replace the ones that fail. Replacing a full set on a guess costs you money for parts that were fine.
