Common Symptoms

Signs You Need This Service

Slow crank, or a click and nothing

A slow, dragging crank or a single click with the dash lit up usually means the battery is done. We load test it at your location before we replace anything, because a bad alternator or a corroded cable can fake the same symptom.

Fine after a drive, dead the next morning

A battery that dies overnight is either a parasitic draw or a battery that will not hold a charge anymore. We load test it, check the charging system, and measure the draw with the car off so you get the right fix, not a second battery in a month.

New battery on a BMW, Mercedes, Audi, or Porsche

European cars need the new battery registered to the vehicle's computer, or the charging system overcharges it and shortens its life. We carry the programming tools and do the registration on site in Plano.

What To Expect

Battery Replacement, Start To Finish

Tell us the year, make, and model and we bring the tester and the right battery. At your location we load test the old one, check the alternator output, and clean the terminals before deciding anything.

A standard replacement takes about thirty minutes. Luxury and European cars take longer because of the registration and coding step, and that is included in the quote you get before we start. Battery service starts at $125 plus the battery.

You get a charging system check after the install so you are not calling us again in a week. The old battery goes with us for recycling.

Frequently Asked

Questions & Answers

A battery problem shows up at start-up: slow crank or a click. An alternator problem shows up while driving: dimming lights, a battery warning light, or a car that dies on the road. We test both at your location before replacing either.

Yes. Apartment and office lots work fine as long as we can park next to the car and open the hood. We bring everything, including the new battery, so there is nothing for you to pick up.

Yes. We source the correct AGM or EFB battery for BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, and other European models and bring it with us. Tell us the model and year when you call so it is on the truck.

Yes. Registration and coding are part of the job on cars that need it. Skipping that step is why a lot of replacement batteries on European cars fail early.

Usually three to four years. Heat is harder on a battery than cold, so Plano summers shorten the life you might expect elsewhere. If yours is past three years and cranking slowly, it is time.
